*This nested cup weight — in Dutch also known as a "sluitgewicht" or "pijlgewicht" — has seven cups and one small, solid weight (the disc) fitting together precisely. The lid has a clasp and handle, and bears the maker's mark. The set is also officially assayed: the outer cup carries, inside, the Amsterdam coat of arms flanked by letters I and A. The second cup bears the same mark plus a separate date letter E; the third is marked the same way. The remaining cups and the disc carry only the Amsterdam arms. These marks are attributed to assay master Jan Adriaensz van Keulen, active (in or before) 1632–1683. Letter E likely denotes 1644. Together, the pieces weigh half an Amsterdam pound: 210 grams.
