Silver Reichsthaler struck in 1569 at the mint of Cologne, during the reign of Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II. The obverse shows the helmeted city coat of arms of Cologne flanked by a griffin and a lion, surrounded by the legend MO·NO·A-RG-CI-V· COLON 15-69. The reverse depicts the imperial double-headed eagle with the imperial orb at its centre, encircled by the legend ·MAXIMILIA·II· IMP-AVG·P·F·DECRETO·. Weight: 26.8 g.
