Clonmel: label stop decoration

Built into a wall near Old St Mary's Church in Clonmel, this seems to be a limestone label stop decoration often found on churches of the late 15th and early 16th century. It would have sat to the left of a left side label stop decoration like the ones still in place in the west window of St Mary's

Built into a wall near Old St Mary's Church in Clonmel, this seems to be a limestone label stop decoration often found on churches of the late 15th and early 16th century. It would have sat to the left of a left side label stop decoration like the ones still in place in the west window of St Mary's Church. It is likely that it came from there and was re-used in this wall.
I spotted it last year and reported it to the National Monuments service on September 9 2025.
