The work belongs to a very important period in Oteiza’s career, when the artist was evolving from a more figurative style of sculpture towards increasingly undefined and abstract forms. In the sculpture, we can see that Oteiza does not try to represent a mother in a realistic way. This model was photogrammetrically scanned by Artmonite during a visit to Vitoria in 2026.
