Ask students to describe the framework of Dimorpholinomethane before anything else: two 6-membered rings. Then count the bonds together; there are 32 (all of them single). Students work from the model back to the formula C9H18N2O2: the symbol count is 9 C + 18 H + 2 N + 2 O, or 31 atoms all told. It makes amines and basicity easier to see.
