Pentane (C5H12, CAS 109-66-0) — a free educational 3D molecular model for teachers and students, by MolGod.org. Every atom carries its engraved element symbol (C, H, O, N...), so no colour key is needed.
Pentane is a chain molecule with no ring: 16 bonds (all of them single) connect its 17 atoms. A five-minute warm-up: read the symbol on every sphere and write down the totals (5 C + 12 H = 17 atoms). Use it when you teach saturated carbon chains and tetrahedral (sp3) carbon. For a lesson on isomerism, print it together with Isopentane (CAS 78-78-4): the same atoms, arranged differently.
