Turn the model in your hand to see the shape of L-menthol: one 6-membered ring, and 31 bonds in total (all of them single). Quick starter: ask students to count the engraved symbols (10 C + 20 H + 1 O) and check that they add up to 31 atoms and the formula C10H20O. Stereochemistry in your hand: L-menthol carries three stereocentres (R, S, R), so students can check each label against the CIP rules.
