1-Bromopropane is a chain molecule with no ring: 10 bonds (all of them single) connect its 11 atoms. A five-minute warm-up: read the symbol on every sphere and write down the totals (3 C + 7 H + 1 Br = 11 atoms). Spot-the-group challenge: can students find the C-Br bond? Use it when you teach organohalogen compounds and carbon-halogen bonds.
