The French Western comic book series *Tex-Tone*—published in a pocket-sized format by the Lyon-based company Impéria between 1957 and 1988 (spanning 526 issues)—was not the work of a single creator.
It was a collective production based on commissioned stories, with contributions from several creators:
• Writing: Georges Gavazzi was one of the series' key French writers.
• Artwork: Several artists worked on the episodes, either in succession or in collaboration, notably Yves Mondet, Bob Leguay, and the Spanish artist Rafael Méndez.
Format: Small format (initially 68 pages, later 132 pages).
Number of issues: Over 500 (526 or 549, depending on the source).
Original subtitle: *King of Cowboys* (for the first 75 issues).
