A fragment built into the west interior nave wall of Aghmacart Church as part of the modern, but now disused, heating system. It is reminiscent of Rory O'Tunney's work who did work in the area, but I personally think it is not from his hand. It looks like an hommage to him. Whoever made it, it possibly came from a piscina (see [the one at Kilcooley Abbey](https://skfb.ly/psvVs)). Compare the "[Bishop's Gate](https://skfb.ly/pAJzV)" leading from the former Bishop's Palace to St Canice's Cathedral in Kilkenny. Both pieces were possibly salvaged from Bishop Richard Pococke and re-used. In a context like this, I would expect two pelicans eating grapes rather than just one.
There are genuine vine leave label stops at the south window of the church which might have come from Aghmacart or from Grangefertagh Augustinian Priory where Rory definitely worked.
