This silver Reichsthaler (26.92 gr) was struck in Cologne during the rule of Salentin von Isenburg (1567-1577) as archbishop-elector. The obverse shows an elaborate coat of arms, crowned with a tournament helmet, with the legend MONETA·NOVA·ARGEN·TVICII — "new silver coin of Deutz." The reverse show

This silver Reichsthaler (26.92 gr) was struck in Cologne during the rule of Salentin von Isenburg (1567-1577) as archbishop-elector. The obverse shows an elaborate coat of arms, crowned with a tournament helmet, with the legend MONETA·NOVA·ARGEN·TVICII — "new silver coin of Deutz." The reverse shows Saint Peter striding to the left with key and book, the patron saint of Cologne Cathedral, with the legend SALENTIN·ELECTVS·ECCLES·COLONIEN — "Salentin, elected leader of the church of Cologne." One of 44 coins from a hoard found on the Ter Coulster estate, Heiloo.
